Opened in early 2008, Mulberry House is a modern Neuro-Rehab Centre catering for twenty two (22) adults with acquired and traumatic brain injuries. It is registered for young adults from 20 to 65 years. Mulberry House represents Stages 1 & 2 of the Titleworth Managed Pathway Model and as such, seeks to rehabilitate its residents fully following their injury and instil them with the confidence and ability to move back into their own homes or supported living environments where we can support them further in their independence.
Queen Mary's is located in a quiet road in St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex, near to a bus route and approximately 1.5 miles from the town centre, seafront and mainline railway station. The home is registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) and offers the highest standards of acute nursing and transitional residential care in a warm and friendly environment.
The home is purpose built to exceptionally high standards accommodating wheelchairs throughout. All corridors and doorways are sized accordingly and kitchen surfaces and appliances are all at wheelchair level. All floors are easily accessible via the full stretcher-sized lift. Another beautiful feature is our meticulously manicured gardens, with patios, grassy areas and a beautiful fountain. There are raised flowerbeds, ancient trees with all areas being accessible by wheelchair users for their enjoyment.
In addition to intensive rehabilitation programs with our therapy teams, we aim to provide a lifestyle that satisfies the social, cultural, religious and recreational interests and needs of our residents allowing them to exercise choice and control at all levels. We aim to help residents continue to enjoy a wide range of individual and group activities and interests both inside and outside of the home. We constantly use the local community making use of a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. We also have links with various day centres where additional interests and educational pursuits can be enjoyed.
The company has access to a multi disciplinary neuro-therapy team who devise therapeutic programmes to suit all needs. We have well established links to the local community health teams so that individual needs are suited at all times.
Our aim is to make the home as welcoming as possible with visits from friends and relatives always encouraged. There are no set visiting times, although where possible, meal times need to be avoided in order to respect the privacy and dignity of residents who generally need assistance when eating. We expect all visitors to have left the home by 10.30pm but these times are of course flexible upon request and as needs arise.
Food and drink plays an important part in the social life of Mulberry House. To this end we provide a welcoming, unhurried environment at meal times. Choice is paramount, with snacks and drinks always available. Special diets are always catered for and a monthly menu is provided offering an exceptional choice of quality meals.
